Take a cliché: “her soul is white as the snow” or “he is my everything” and write a second line that is contrary to what the initial statement usually means.Take something simple and boring and flip it around in a way that no one expects and then you’ll have a little hook in your reader.
Write down what you want to write about.
Then write down the first 50 words that come to your mind when you try to describe it.
Now write 500 more words, none of them being the ones already entrenched into the paper.
